“You sounded great on the air!” “Clear Fork were wonderful in every way. They play, sing, and relate to the audience just the way any presenter would wish. The crowd was happy, we were happy...” “...a diverse crowd of about 600 ... applauded Clear Fork’s own songs as well as numbers written by other artists. Based upon Clear Fork’s performance..., the band would seem to be headed toward the top. The vocals and musical arrangements sounded first rate and an air of enthusiasm and confidence flowed through the group.” “Ordinarily a bluegrass band would seem out of place in the regal, red-carpeted lobby of the Akron Civic Theater. But Clear Fork belonged there.”

Clear Fork Bluegrass Quartet performs with confidence, precision, and playful ease. Besides classic bluegrass music, their sound is shaped by early traditional American country music, western swing, and the American fiddle music traditions. Add the impact of the many kinds of “roots” music that the band’s musicians have absorbed throughout their careers and, woven together, the result is a matchless musical fabric and a unique acoustic blend. Since 1984, Clear Fork Bluegrass Quartet has thrilled their audiences, young and old alike, with their musical, Bluegrass journeys. Recent appearances include the Firefly Festival for the Performing Arts (IN), Gaylord (MI) Area Council for the Arts Concert Series, the Chillicothe Area Artist Series, and on the Main Stage Theatre at Owens Community College (OH). In addition to traditional concert performances, Clear Fork Bluegrass Quartet offers educational and outreach programs which are designed to complement a traditional evening performance. They offer small group workshops which are suitable for all ages, “Ring the Banjo,” a workshop for children that is well suited as their first introduction to some of the band’s instruments and the music they create, master classes on bluegrass fiddle and banjo geared to intermediate/advanced music students, and for larger groups, lecture/demonstrations and open rehearsals. Clear Fork Bluegrass Quartet is also active in the recording studio. No Hard Times, released in 1990, and Banjo Cafe, released in 2002, have both received rave reviews and nationwide airplay.
